Maybe i should say it one more time $20 B with a capital "B".
That’s how much money or revenue that Instagram, currently generated for Facebook. And that’s huge!
In April of 2012, Facebook acquired Instagram ($1B) after Twitter made a bid for the 13 member company. Very smart and forward thinking move. A lot of companies get their acquisitions wrong and not necessarily tech companies. I feel that a lot of companies like Apple, Samsung, etc should have put their hat in the ring for Instagram and Whatsapp.
Intangibles, intangibles, intangibles. Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in 2016 for a princely sum and LinkedIn today has a lot more noise and probably generates 1/5 the revenue of the original acquisition price.
An Instagram sort of a deal is probably one out of thousand(s).
